Dangerous goods and substances
Dangerous goods and substances are dealt with special care at Varna Airport. Whenever dangerous goods are to be transported via air, the relevant data of the goods are always made available to the destination airports in accordance with the IATA standards. Regular training drills guarantee that all personnel, involved in handling dangerous goods, is well-prepared and have profound knowledge in this specialized field.
Safety is also an underlying priority, regarding the use of dangerous substances. Both personnel and environment shall be protected from the detrimental impact of dangerous chemical substances and preparations.
Control is exercised on all chemical substances, preparations and products, with special care on industrial safety, personnel health and ecological criteria, demanding rigorous observing of clear-cut protection safety measures and regulations on handling chemical substances.
The company is registered as a downstream user in accordance with Regulation REACH PP06/BG/7/2, which defines rules for storage and use of hazardous substances.
In relation to ensuring safety of aviation fuel storage tanks in 2008 separation concrete to prevent leakage or in the event of accident, liquid to contaminate the environment were constructed.
