Contemporary and a modern vision in the interior of Varna airport VIP lounge Varna airport has a new, modern look. Guided by contemporary trends, a team of young architects and designers transform innovative concepts into the interior of the VIP hall of the Airport. In its modernization are sought the most recent decisions, warm look, clean and elegant style, colors full with freshness and giving good mood. Besides the warm colors, feeling of comfort is achieved with backlight, which opens or hides parts of the space. Original, elegant and minimalist is the design of the furniture imported from Italy. The paneling, carpets, furniture, bathrooms are totally refurbish. High class lighting with energy saving lamps with a low startup time is used.
"Panthers" on guard at the airports Six new and ultra modern firefighting and rescue airfield vehicles of the Panther type were recently purchased by the concessionaire of the Varna and Burgas airports. The state-of-the-art vehicles are powerful and fast and feature the latest in technology and fire and rescue equipment available worldwide. Each of the vehicles has an overall weight of 36 tons, a 6x6 six-cylinder engine with 705 hp output at 2,050 rpm, 2,585 Nm maximum torques at 1,300 rpm and 18.1 litre displacement. The water pump discharges 6,200 litres of water per minute at a pressure of 10 atmospheres. They are the only ones of their kind in Bulgaria. Two of the special vehicles have a telescopic device that can send a stream of water 30 metres away. The ultra advanced equipment is operated only by staff who have received the relevant training. The vehicles were delivered as part of the process of complete technological renovation and modernisation, including the fire and rescue equipment, that Fraport Twin Star Management has undertaken at the two airports. It is the company's priority to invest in the field of safety.
Renovated Departure Area As of 2008, Varna Airport has been provided with a renovated departure area as part of its passenger services provided.Thanks to the improvements to the “Departures” area on Terminal 1, a more spatious area and efficient check-in, passport control and hand-luggage processing has been achieved.The renovations on Terminal 1 effected in doubling the passenger services and commercial activities area, whereas passengers sojourn on the territory of the airport has been mad more pleasant. The shop occupies and area of 400 sq.m. and is of the so-called “Go Through” type, being directly accessible to passengers immediately following assport control formalities. The newly opened shop on Varna Airport gives the passengers the opportunity to enjoy a wide varity of high-quality products of world-famous companies. One of the most attractive spots in the shop is the Bulgarian nook and the wide range of quality Bulgarian wines and souveniers.
New Summer Terminal A new Terminal for Arrivals and Departures has been opened as of June 18^th 2007 at Varna Airport, put into operation at an inaugural ceremony in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Petar Mutafchiev, Members of the Parliament, the Mayors of Varna and Aksakovo, Mrs. Andrea Pal, senior vice-president of Fraport AG, the Management of “Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD, presided by its Chief Executive Director, MR. Andreas Helfer and the Director of Varna Airport, Captain Andreia Andreev and numerous other honorable guests.
New Hall to the Convenience of Business-Class Passengers A modern business-class hall was opened in June 2007 at Varna Airport, thus the airport being able to meet the higher requirements for servicing business-class passengers on regular flights. The overall design concept of the business-class hall aims at providing convenience, comfort and special care in servicing business-class passengers. The VIP hall at Varna Airport is the place to receive special attitude prior to boarding or leaving a flight. While enjoying your sojourn in a comfortable environment, our officials would take care of all formalities: ticket and luggage processing, custom’s and border control formalities, accompanying you in person to board a flight or meeting you on leaving the plane.
